Get to Know Us – Your Trusted Missouri Construction Contractor

In 1970, one of the original founders, Charles K. Tubbs, of Humboldt Boat Service began providing an honest, high-quality, reliable towboat for the inland port system on the Mississippi River located in St. Louis, MO.  For over three decades, Charles, and his son, Thomas, designed and built over two hundred towboats, barges, and ferries, and repaired countless others over the years. These towboats became well known for their super structure being so tall, that they earned the nickname: Skyscraper and also for being called a Mighty Mite, because the boat was so small yet powerful, and handled unbelievably well.  They built their last boat in the late 1980’s and transitioned to a repair only facility with a full machine shop.  Thomas continued the repair facility along with his son Bryant, starting to step in around the late 1990’s. Then around the early 2000’s they began to transition more into the river construction and incorporated Tubbs Marine Service. During the duration of the business they offered: full machine shop, custom welding and fabrication, boat and barge repair, towing arrangements, barge transfers, cell and dock repairs, pile driving and bank stabilization. They continued the family business until Charles passed away in 2009 and Thomas retired in 2013.

Then in 2015, Bryant and his wife, Nichole, proudly continue the tradition, and honor Charles and Thomas’ memory with Tubbs & Son Construction, and Tubbs Heavy Hauling.  They are rooted in Missouri values and proudly service the St. Louis area and surrounding counties, they are committed to delivering dependable, high-quality service. Their experienced team is fully licensed, insured, and bonded, ensuring every project is handled with professionalism and care. So, give them a call if you have a river or demolition project!
